R/O Filter Question

Thinking about buying a box of 20 filters. How often do R/O filters need to be replaced? (once a day?) I've heard a water test kit is a needed item if you have an R/O. What is it used for and will a pool water test kit work? Thanks Justin

Justin, I change mine daily, depending on the amount of sap I put through it. I order them through FW Webb in Rutland. They are half the price of Leader.You will also need a filter to run while doing washes and you won't want to get them mixed up.You don"t want to get any of that soap into your syrup. You don't need a water test kit for your RO, but you should get some litmus papers so that you can test the pH of your wash water. The pH should be at about 11 to properly clean your membrane.
