Channel 22 called me today just as I got home from work early. The reporter asked if I had started tapping and I told him I had gotten out of work early to tap. He asked if he could stop by. 45 minutes later we were filming. Here is the link

That was a nice story. Its good to see the local news cover local, seasonal topics.

This might be good for business too. Some people will remember the story when pure maple syrup comes to mind. They will find you when they want some.

Good luck this season.

Keith-

Good for you. Every bit of fame helps. Those are 1/2 gallon taps, come on. They have proven themselves. Non of this quart stuff.

Keith- nicely done, finally a story that has correct details. I agree with Matt though seems like your sandbagging the syrup per tap. Your a 1/2 gallon and above kind of guy!

Everyone should go to the stations website and thank them for running the story. The more feedback they get of a positive nature encourges them to do more stories like that. You might suggest that they do a follow up story on how the season went and what is being done to help the trees recover from the ice storms. Just a thought.

Great show. What a way to promote the syrup industry where ever you may be in the syrup producing states.

well I know I got a over a 1/2 gal per tap but i did not say that because that is not the norm. last year was the best year for me and previously it was .41 and never lower than a third of a gal.since I re did my mainlines, but for the average I feel getting a qt. per tap is a good goal.

Channel 22 came back todayto do a follow up. He wanted to know about the low sugar content and dark syrup that many are complaining about.
