Just bought this filter tank but once I have the filter in there is no way the cover fits on. Any suggestions?

Send the cover back and tell them you want a cover thats oversized by 2" on each side of the tank to cover the filter, being customer oriented I'm sure they'll send one right out at no extra cost.
