Barrel bung gaskets

Do many of you replace your 2" bung plugs often, or at least the gaskets? I see tons for sale at Bascom's, so they must be a popular item. I'm still using the original ones with my barrels, but some of the gaskets are tearing up, so I guess I should replace them.

The gaskets go bad because when you remove the bung they smear and start to roll on themselves. Dont grease them they will squirt out of the sealing area. They will cost you dearly if they leak. Its like a garden hose gasket what a pain if they leak.
