I would like to know if there is a optimum batch size when drawing syrup off. I currently take off about a gallon at a time when cooking. I wait until the temp reaches 218 and then open the draw off valve wide open until the temp drops to about 215. This consistently gives me syrup about a point off of finished and ready for my propane fired finish pan. Would it be more efficient to take smaller batchs more frequently?
