turbulance

i have 1/2 inch to build up under flue pan after bricking , what would be the best way to create some turbulance under the flue and on the slope?thanx john

I would look at half inch steel bars laid crossways under the flues. I don't know the best spacing but would start at every 4 inches or so.

They wouldn't make any difference on the slope.

Just a guess....
