This has been my spare time project and has been slow. But today it rainned
and I got it kinda layed out and dry fit. Still lots of welding for my son to
do for me, but can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Cheese>>>,
These rigs always look like they are right sized for small producers. Nice job on the fit up and fab work!

Thanks for the compliments. Hope to get it up and running soon. Sap starts
to run here mid March, my dad always said St. Patrick's Day, and he was
usally right.

This rig really looks good. What did you do for the grate and did you firebrick it?

Yes I hope to try and brick it the best I can, but don't think I will cement them, maybe use some high temp silicone to tack together in places? The
grates are from another evaporator, had to cut a foot off to make them fit.
I hated to ruin them, but I wasn't going to go out and buy some, while these
might stand in the corner of the shed forever. Everthing I used was here and mostly recycled stuff, all I bought so far was a piece of ceramic blanket and
the four bolts on the legs to act as levelers. And don't forget the new and
nice stainless steel stack I just bought (the wife isn't quite over that yet).

I like your door.
That was the only thing I cheaped out on.. I will have to come up with a better sealing door..
I am using a pretty strong forced draft blower on mine and I get flames blowing out around my door.
I get a much much better boil rate over the past few seasons tin and concrete block arch.
One of these days I might fab up a regular arch. The oil burners work great for the effort and minimal investment. Good luck.

Another dirty day so I managed to get the new stack up , with the cable
driven open and closer my son made and bricked the arch, didn't have to buy any but the last two bricks were in pieces. It is ready now for the pans.

Today we put the pans on, used water and did a test boil. I am very satisfied
with the way it worked. In the pic, my son Korey ,who did all the welding.

Looks good man! Look at that thing boil. I am jealous of the inside set up. I'm still going to be freezing.
