I see in the new leader catalog they are advertising a new product called a flood vacuum system. It has a motor, vacuum tank, and a releaser all bolted to one platform. What makes it a flood system?

WHy are electric releasers cheaper than mechanical ones?

The electric releaser is alot easer to make. There is alot less plastic, air cylinders and tubing .

The flood type has a oil recovery system included. It uses more oil than say a vac pump with a drip cup on the top. But in turn it recaims like 95% of the oil so it really doesn't use much more oil than on with a drip cup.
In turn it allows the pump to run at much higher vac with out overheating.
The ne one they have listed in the catalog is one that is designed for a small application.
As for the electric releasers, by the time you add the cost of an electric pump they are pretty much comperable in price. Also electric type are prone to freezing. Unless you can keep the pump from frezing at night they don't work good. Some producers use them in heated room then there is not a problem.
