I was given a 25kg bucket of refractory cement last year that had never been opened I thought I needed to add water to it so I just left it in the shed over the winter, when I went to use it today I found that it was already mixed and frozen solid. When it thaws will it still be usable? or is it wasted?

Its not like paint. If it thaws and the directions say that you can thin it with water than your ok. BUT what does the directions say. I have used drywall mud that froze and seperated. I mixed with high speed drill and used it. Try a small amount and bake it in the oven....dont nuke it. Most of the air dry cement get their strenght when heat is applied and they cure or fuse together. They need to dry slowly and then bake.

Just mix some up and spread it on a fire brick and heat slowly you will get your answer.
