Good question. I have used it, it is non-asbestos, and somewhat granular. It is pretty easy to work with, like a good styrofoam board.

When your done with it.... get rid of it.... Silica is the next asbestos scare, they WILL be banning it in years to come, they also will be controlling the cutting of silica based concrete cutting to a controlled environment!

This is from an asbestos awareness class,

heres a little UNKNOWN trivia for you.....

What did they use in the Wizard of OZ for the snow scenes, which they had to do over and over to get right???? Anyone???

ASBESTOS !!! pure, Fiber, Asbestos.. as snow falling on and around everyone!! Can you imagine !!

lost 2 family members to the asbestos, Mon and an aunt. Both worked on liberty ships during the war. You just need to use caution when dealing with something you know little about. the old saying is true an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Shoot, I had asbestos falling in my food in the lunchroom in 7th and 8th grade - no joke. Probably why I don't need gloves when I scoop out the boiling syrup :) -tig
