Eric, i am on a constant search for good hose clamps. i have tried many different kinds but never a shielded one. so far the best i have found are breeze clamps. they seem to do the best job of inital clamping and if you need to go back and retighten a joint if there is a leak they give you that extra little bit you always need. most clamps if you go back later they just strip right out. if i need to shield the pipe in a spot i just cut a short length of pipe then split one side and wrap it around the pipe then clamp away. works good and fast.
