Ok I was doing some research online about how to improve the efficiency of my evaporator. I came across one site the was from Thunder Bolt research Facility and it was on Improving evaporator efficientcy for maple producers. To make a long story short they said that by putting a barometric damper into the stack that you could better control the amount of draft needed for maximum combustion. This was with forced draft, there reasoning was that the draft would remain constant throughout the day. Anyone have any expierience with this?
Thanks Jeff

I plan on putting one my oil rig this year I plan on tweaking it every way I can. About 35 years ago I was in the mountains at a log cabin work camp and all the wood stoves the only way they heated and cooked had the stack damper and they said without them they used alot more wood and the fire would suck up the pipe and waste alot of heat. Im sold.
