Can anyone who attended the Bellows Falls meeting last weekend tell me what Proctor Research said about their syrup taste tests involving syrup made from different RO concentrations? Thanks, Bruce

There was a slight differance in highly concentrated sap,there is no appreciable differance in taste. thats what they said. they found that the number of volital flavor compounds was equal in 2 8 12 and 15 % consentrate. taste tests showed the same results as the chemical analysis. they said that higher consentrates produced lighter syrup.....DA Higher concentrates have slightly lower invert sugar content. Proctor said that it would be hard for the average person to see the color differance from one concentrate to the next. Its all in the Maple News.
