I have 200 taps on 2500ft of tubing into 12 totes at different pick up points on hill sides and valleys. Is this too much tubing or is this about right for this number of taps? I have heard some people say they would like tubing but their trees where too far apart. I was just wandering because I sure like my tubing.

Better than buckets but i love buckets too..i have 2000' of mainline with 227 taps i have it going into a 330 tank .

are you talking about 2500' of mainline or the 5/16th lateral tubing.

My biggest bush has aprox 230 taps and one one side of the fence as it is owned by 2 different people, I probably have at least 2,500 feet of 5/16 on aprox 165 taps and maybe 3,000 feet or more. In my opinion, there is no such thing as too much tubing, you do the best you can with what you have and if you maintain proper slope and use a very light colored tubing, then you are fine.

A good average is 33 taps per roll of tubing (lateral line). any thing more or less is not to much or too little. I is what works for you, and how much you want to put into it.

You answered your own question---Who cares if you have too much tubing up, you like your tubing!!! As long as you're happy with it---go with it. Good Luck

I think you are fine. You only have 5 rolls of 5/16 and you have 200 taps so you are averaging 40 taps per roll. I know that when I reduced my laterals to 5-10 taps on each lateral it ment more mainline but at the same time more taps per roll of tubing.
Anyways you said you are happy so thats what matters.

you should run about 50 taps per roll of sap line, some bushes will get more tap per roll but you sould try to hit 50 per roll of 5/16
