Leader Hobby Evaporator

Has anyone purchased this particular evaporator? I am interested in it and have a small sugarbush of about 100 trees that I could potentially tap. All on a hill so it would easily be gravity fed.

We started sugaring with a rig very similar to a Leader Half-Pint, which I believe is the evaporator you are giving reference to. At the time we had close to 100 taps and found it quite difficult to keep up. I've seen some photos on this site of simple modifications done by other sugarmakers which would without question improve the rig's efficiency. Hopefully those folks will drop in to offer their insight.

Before you spend your money on a new 1/2 pint. Contact "peacemaker" on here. He's got a great rig for sale that is going to be WAY better for you for the same if not less money as they are charging for a new 1/2 pint.

Nothing wrong with homemade! Hell, we've got a whole section here dedicated to it. In this game, if you don't have it and can't get it or afford it, you MAKE it! Whatever gets that syrup made!!!! I just checked out the pics of peacemaker's rig. Sweeeeet. If I had the scratch, I'd buy it.
