You'll be concentrating to above 8% for sure, or you'll be boiling 12-14 hours a day. Just recirculate to a higher concentration and you should be fine.
1500 gallons @2% = 187.5@16% @30gph should be 6 - 8 hours boiling. Also 37.5 gallos of quality product, and about 7 gallons of syrup an hour coming off.
Thats if and when you get 1500 gallons or 1 gallon per tap. If you get 1/2 gallon run, few hours of boiling and your done.
Adjust concentration to how bad you want to watch steam or not on a given night.

I was thinking about buying the hero r/o thats about all i can afford right now would that still be alright ?

I think that you would need a 600 gph RO to keep up with that many taps with a 2x6. The Hero processes 50 gallons per hour and that is it. What you get for concentration depends on how fast your evaporator boils.

If you are going to buy a hero, start the fire in the evaporator tonight and start pitching wood in and get the bricks good and hot and ready for the spring.
I could be wrong, but I think for not much more money you can get a single 4" membrane rig from lapierre for not much more money or same money. You'll definately have to recirculate for a while but you can get there. Also I am pretty sure on this style you won't have a recirculation pump which will effect the ability to concentrate to a higher level effectively without clogging the membrane.

If you want to use a hero then you should only tap say 500 taps and thats still going to be long days. I would agree with Russ you will need a 600GPH RO to keep up with 1500 taps. Another idea is to tap all 1500 and boil as much as you can tollerate this year and sell the rest of the sap and then buy a 600 GPH RO for the following year.
Or another option with the hero is to boil in shifts if you have someone else that can boil with you.
I guess it all comes down to how many hours a day you can boil.

I'd say a new one would be around 15,000 but if you say you can't even afford a used one then you may need to do what I suggested and sell sap for a year. Or buy the hero and then sell it in a year. I don't feel you will be satisfied with a hero. You should call Leader and talk to them about the hero and your 2X6.
Another option is to buy a larger evaporator. you could get a larger used evaporator for less than an RO
I have a 3X12 and I get 140GPH with it and I have 1150 taps on vac. This year I had many days that I boiled 15-17 hours to keep up.

Maybe you can find someone locally that has an ro, and you can truck your sap over there and haul back concentrate. Pay them a fee for doing it and it would be win win.

There's a 3.5'x14' evaporator for $6000 in the classifieds. That may be worth a look as it'd solve all your problems and allow you to expand more.

Well i may but i was thinking about getting that 200gph ro if it would work on 1500 taps and not have a long boiling time.
let me know guys what you think
thanks

If the 200 has a recirc to it, you mite be able to get away with it, if it doesn't you will have a hard time, the membrane will clog up each pass, if you can get through 1 pass...

One problem you are going to have with the WSE is that there is no flow reversal and with high concentrate, you are going to have nitre and sugarsand buildup fast and you won't be boiling long before you burn up a pan or have to stop and teardown and clean it.
I may be wrong and I stand to be correct, but I understand there is no reversal on a WSE. Worse case, might want to invest in a spare syrup pan but you are going to develop scale and nitre in the flue pan boiling 20% concentrate with no reversal.

We reverse the pan we just turn it around only the syrup pan though.
is that what ur talking about ?
