I've been looking for a place where I can buy a couple of pounds of food grade (FCC) sodium metabisulfite. I found it listed on the websites of a few chemical supply companies, but they will sell only to companies and won't deliver to a residential address. Does anyone know where I could buy it? I'm looking very specifically for food grade (FCC).

did you try any home brewing suppliers?
That's what we use to store membranes with in the off season. The Maple Guys or Bascoms should have it. It's known as SBS in the maple world.

Thanks so much! I found it at benshomebrew.com. The package label lists it as an additive to wine must in addition to it's use as a sanitizer, so it should be food grade. Perhaps I'm being obsessive, but I like everything that runs through my RO system to be food grade. (To clean it I use a detergent called Tergazyme, which also has wording on its label that indicates to me that it's food grade.)
