All my trees are along a fence row about 2000' long. The slope from top to bottom is at least 5% consistantly. I curently have 400' of 3/4" mainline with 60 taps. I would like to increase 125-150 taps and would like know how long can I go with 3/4" on gravity. Any advice?

I'm not an expert, but I think provided you have slope, length is not an issue. I think the only concern may be the lines heating up during the day if they're exposed to sunlight. I'm going to have a run about 1500' and I haven't heard any problems with that. Vacuum at this point is T.B.D.

Jazzman,
I'm like Amber Gold, I'm no expert!!
I'm looking at the chart in The North American Maple Syrup Producers Manual and it says for 3/4" mainline, 5% slope, you can load that with 500 taps.
So I would say you are good to go, the length isn't an issue, it's the number of taps at that slope.

The key thing is how many taps will be in the 2,000 feet? If you are going to increase another 150 to total out at 210 or so you will be fine. Like 3% said you can go by the recomendation in the NAMSPM
