Interesting paper. To bad they didn't have an engineer on board.

The natural vacuum performance must be dependent on the ability of the system to pump gas (probably air, but who knows? Might be CO2), and they either left out or didn't measure that/those features.

Nevertheless, the indicated yield improvement with very modest vacuums is significant.
