What's the best way to clean all the soot of the bottom of the pans? Boy I got some on mine that look like LineX in a pickup bed. Any suggestions out there?

Al,

Didn't clean mine, but if you do, you had better heat them up good to make sure they are dry on the underside.

I spoke to Randy at Leader a few months ago about cleaning the underside of the pans and he stated if you got the soot wet, it would turn to lye and could eat through even stainless. He suggests just brushing off what you can and leaving them like that. :?

Don't know if this is true, but makes sense. :? :?

A friend of mine made a wooden frame and lines it with plastic , puts his dropflue pan in , adds water and some pan cleaner(inside the frame) and lets it set over nite. And does the same with his front pan. Cleans them good.

If you do use the pan cleaner, make sure you scrub and pressure wash the outside of the pans really good or the acid will eat a hole in the outside just like the inside. :D :D
