Y or T

Can you connect mainline using a T or do you need a Y? Seems like a Y would have less resistance for flowing sap. The spur I am connecting would only be about 30 taps on a 3/4 mainline connecting to another 3/4 line

Use a Y. We're replacing all our T's as we replace the old black mainline. Water doesn't like to turn 90 degrees.
