The problem with galv. is its heavey and it will rust at all the screw or pop rivet holes. Aluminum is nice and light easy to bend

someones gota have a plan to make a hood out of aluminum. Im no metal fab, but I can cut, bend and pop-rivet pretty good I would imagine.

I have some pics on my website link in my signature of my hood if you are interested. Most of the pics are before I added a steam stack above the syrup pan and ducted it into the flue pan stack. There are pics of the evaporator in different albums if you are interested which may help you some. My frame and channel on my hood is aluminum and the rest is stainless including stack.
