Question for the experienced RO users:
how many hours do you run before cleaning the membranes ??
how much premeate flow drop off do you see after a few hours running ??

I use a little soap often and keep them clean. You never know when the big one is going to happen and when it does, your membranes will foul and you are up the creek.

I Run Soap Through Mine Every 12 Hours Of Operation, Roughly Every Other Day. I Put It Through A Hot Water Rinse On The Days I Don't Do The Soap Bath.

I clean my ro at the end of each boil day. We usually do 1 to 2000 gallons per day. It may run quite a few hours. Once its done we do the 5 min rinse then a wash for at least an hour or sometimes I let it run till it kicks off on temp. I use a tbls I think its not very much of the soap that came with it. I do that every time. I think my perm goes from maybe 9 gallons per minute initially to maybe 6 later on. Ill try to remember to look. Theron
