I use a surge SP-22 vacume pump.Last week something caused the rotary valve to break, I brazed the ears back on and am back in business . I noticed that the rotary valve has worn a grove in the head or was it like this in the first place. My question is should the head be flat and should the outer ring of the rotary valve be flat too, mine has a small ridge in the outer portion of the ring. Are there rings on the pistons and can I get new ones?
Thank
Jim

I have an SP-11 that had the same issue with a groove on the plate where the valve had worn it down...I took it to a machine shop and for $20 they ground it down flat...should be flat.
I did not take apart the pistons, but if I remember correctly there are no rings on the pistons...
I have a copy of the manual (I think it was for both the sp-11 and sp-22) that I got from Parker...I could send you a copy- but I wont be back East till July...
good luck...
