novice here: I put out my milk jugs too early this year and got a cold snap and my sap all froze in them and the ice created a hole in the bottom of 90% of my milk jugs. I dont have time to wait now, Any idea on how to fix or any suggestions. Would a dab of silcone work? What is the best for future investing in bag holders and bags or old style pails? Are the hole from the ice or is something chewing on them. some holes are very small some are bigger some have jagged edges.

if the holes are small just put a bolt and nut through the hole with a rubber washer on both sides. Makes a quick fix.

I've used plastic milk jugs to collect my sap for many years without a problem. Sap will freeze on cold nights but worst case would expand out the top if the jug was full. Maybe a piece of duct tape would hold? I'd say you have a critter.
