Can I reuse last years hole?

Newbie question here... If I redrill can I use the same hole I had my spile in last year? Sandy

not reccomended...the tree is healing from last year and there will likely be dead wood in and around the old tap hole. ...tap around the tree maybe half way and at a lower or higher height
