Tapped, sap and boiling in Charlton,near Saratoga

Collected about 220 gallons of sap from our 77 taps, sugar maples and reds, some in the woods, some on the ridge. Fired up the evaporator, 2x4 drop flu, and sugared the pan Sat and made 19 quarts of grade A medium amber. Oh it is good stuff. Weather should warm back up this week so trees will drip again.

We had our last boil Fri night. We collected from 77 taps, sugar maple and reds, total of 1075 gallons of sap and finished with 32 gallons of a light grade A medium amber that has a delicious "buttery" maple flavor. What a great season.
