Finished putting in my 75 taps today after being interrupted 1/2 way through yesterday. Gathered about 12 gal of sap from the 40 or so I put in yesterday. It's still too cold. It didn't get as warm as the forecast called for and sun would have done more for sap flow than the rain we got. The forecast now is for another snow storm Wednesday, and no days above freezing for a week. It was pretty tough tapping in the 16 or so inches of snow in the woods this year, pulling my little sled full of buckets and spiles. Another 6 inches of snow is going to make gathering fun. I have a quad with a trailer that I use when the snows gone, but it's Shank's mare for now.
