Shelf Life of Candy

I was reading a web page the other day that said the shelf life of maple candy (uncoated) was only 2 weeks. Is that right or even possible. I took out some I made over a month ago and had some. It was still perfect. I store mine in plastic sealed bags in a cool dry place.

I have kept it for much longer than that myself when it was sealed and it seemed nearly as good as when I made it. They also say the shelf life of maple syrup is 6 months or less, so I think the guidelines are for selling and cautioning people not to try to keep stuff to sell forever!
