Now this brings up another question. Why is it that all barrel measurements are not the some? Oil is different.

That is privelaged info, non of us are privelaged enough to know that. The bbl size varies just to keep everyone confused.

I know Grimm and Leader use to always sell tanks by how many barrels they would hold until it started sounding like you did more by changing them to gallons. It sounded like a whole lot more work got done when you collected 310 gallons instead 10 barrels LOL

What about metric barrels?

Maybe you all know this, but a gallon is 231 cubic inches.
To find the volume of your barrel, (all measurements in inches) take 1/2 of the diameter times itself, then times 3.14 Now multiply this by the height. Divide this number (cubic inches of the barrel) by 231. Answer is gallons capacity.

Example: If barrel is 26 inches diameter and 30 inches tall, take 13X13X3.14 times 30. Divide by 231 Example barrel holds about 69 gallons. I use a calculator and never look at the screen til I'm done!! Hope this helped!
