Any thoughts on bending or rolling 3/4 inch soft copper tubing? I tried to find a tubing bender but the only ones I could find were very expensive. I'm trying to do the coil around the smoke stack pre-heater and a buddy gave me a roll of tubing to use.

Try to borrow an electrical EMT bender. They support the sides and top of the tubing so it won’t kink.

davey; We rapped 3/4 around the stack pipe on a small D&G rig we had a couple of years ago and we filled the tubing with sand and capped the ends. Then made small bends and it worked for us.

Try to find a spring that fits good inside the pipe and bend a little at a time
I have been thinking about the same thing. I think if I do it, I might find something that is of slightly larger dia than my stack and bend around that. then I will slide the whole thing down over my stack..I dont particularly want the coil touching the stack, it will get hot enough without actually being in contact with it.
