All I have to say is that putting up tubing with 1 1/2 feet of fresh powder sucks. It sucks alot. I feel like a truck hit me! But on a positive note, i have up 1, 3/4" mainline and 3 laterals out so far. About all i could manage considering the snow.

after a while you do get used to it. it is hard work doing it by yourself

I can't agree more, I put out 2500 feet of 2 inch mainline 2 days ago and left it laying on the ground, because we were only getting 4 inches of snow according to the experts. It was fun pulling it out of 14 inches of frozen snow today, and trying to get it on the wire. I can tie my shoes now without bending over.

I dont currently have any snowshoes so all day i was pushing against the snow. I guess i might have to invest in a pair and save myself a little trouble.

Some years I could not begin to tap without snowshoes. One year I had 4' of no crust snow, without the snowshoes i would not go anyplace. This year I have about 3" and the snowshoes stay in the sugarhouse. Hopefully I can get 300 more taps online without a major snow event. Looking at the forcast I hope to be able to tap in about 1 week. I am dropping 125 taps from last year (buckets, and 2 small bushes and adding hopefully 300 new for a 600 tap in 3 locations for this season.
