Looking for thoughts and opinions on some not so clear sap. I have two big barrels full of sap, one is clear like water all the way to the bottom, the other one I can see to the bottom, but it has a yellowish tint and maybe just slightly cloudy. Did a taste taste and couldn’t really tell maybe just an off after taste. Should I boil separately and see how it turns out or just dump it?

The sap was clear at one point, and no rain got into the container..

You could take some of the tinted sap and reduce it by half on your stove top. That would allow you to smell and taste it to see if it is still good or not.

If there is no bad odor or taste to the sap, run it. Cloudy sap can make some of the best tasting syrup.

cook it. just like supper sapper said it will make some great syrup. If you can still see the bottom it's ok, but your on the clock.
