Using 2 turkey fryer pots on single 200k btu burners. Using 20# tanks, and I’m noticing the tanks rapidly develops frost on the outside. Wondering what others using this type of setup use, if I should upgrade to bigger tanks, and if that would change the tank frosting up or if that even matters.

I’ve also had an Issue with getting some yellow flames, regardless of what I do with airflow or the regulator adjustments. It’s not all yellow but bursts/streaks of yellow on and off. Wondering if this is normal.

Probably just gonna finish this season using propane and hoping to figure out a different set up next year! This propane is getting expensive lol

I ran into the same issues last year, when they ice up they loose pressure. There are charts you can find that will tell you how many BTU you can pull from a tank depending on the outdoor temperature. I ended up getting two 100lb for this year, one for each of my two burners. That pretty much solved my problem.

The yellow flame means your air-fuel mix is off, which could be from the low propane pressure or any kind of air-mixing valve you have. It could also be a junk regulator which has trouble keeping up/adjusting as the pressure in the tank changes.

Regarding propane, if you're not already re-fill them, rather than exchanging. It'll be much cheaper, here the difference is $12 vs $25 and you'll get more propane since most exchanges only give you 17lb instead of 20lb. Definitely call around for prices.

If you have the bigger tanks, you may also be able to get a propane company to come out and refill it for you. I have them fill mine when they fill our house tank. I put mine on a pallet-stand so i can move it around with my tractor without them falling over: https://imgur.com/a/N7WT0l9

Basically have to put the propane tanks in a warm water bath. When they near empty, they'll float, so you'll have to weigh them down! Same here, will convert to wood boiling when I get a chance to build something!
