Tapping 2025

Hello Illinois syrup makers! As always I am hoping for a good season. I am planning to tap our usual ~220 taps next week. Who else is getting ready for syrup currently?

I'm ready to go here in Bureau county, Mother Nature is not. Looks like at least another week of cold here. Probably around 120 taps for me this year, my 70 year old legs can't navigate the slopes like before. Still anxious to get started. Have a good year everyone.

Tapped the last 2 days and ended up with around 100 not as many as I've had in the past but enough for my hobby. As soon as the trees thaw out we will be busy.

Second week of cooking here. Good sap flow last week and this week. We will see how the warm up next week affects things.
