5 Micron Location

I have been putting the 5 micron pre-filter between my 8800 24 V pump and the membrane housings. At 90 to 100 psi, it recycles sap to better than 5% before flow rates get really slow. How much better concentration would the system give with that filter between two pumps followed by the same membranes?

Adding the 2nd pump will make a difference (due to higher flowrate which reduces recovery rate which lessens the fouling of the membranes), not the location of the prefilter. Leave it after the pump and before the membranes.

The efficiency of the RO will always decrease with higher concentrations. Very normal.

No answers so I recently tried the 5 mic BEFORE the pump. The pump vibrated and the pressure jumped unpredictably between 80 and 85 psi. I put it right back like it was!
