Attended a retirement party for Maple Mike last evening, he has me by 10 years for sure and I’m 65, it is going to be hard for him to ramp down! He just wants to spend more time at his place near Lake Placid,NY.. Mike opening blames me for keeping him in West Virginia as long as he has been here’s! Started a maple association which allowed Mike to interact with producers from every corner of West Virginia, I would ask him if he was having fun? The answer was always yes!

We will surely miss him, I've sat in half a dozen of his seminars in WV and KY Maple associations. I wouldn't be half as far along in my maple career if it weren't for him and many of you here on the trader. Salute to a fine feller. Enjoy your retirement Dr. Mike! ( I finally got a sap brix measurement on my creekside silver maples this past season, 2.2% compared to 1.6% out of my hillside sugar maples.)
