All of my spouts are stainless steel and I clip them off the drop at the beginning of the season when i am tapping and rotate in a sterilized spout. I am about to replace laterals and was wondering if I assembled my drops with stubby's and tees that they will plug on, I wont' need to clip off the spouts every season. Can some one let me know if a stubby will seal on a straight 5/16 spout? If they do fit, it would save a ton of time. I see that the spouts that are designed to go on stubbies have an outer cup and an inner part that looks like it might be the same diameter as a spout, which leads me to think i could push a stubby onto the stainless spout and it would seal. anyone every try this? I might just have to buy a selection of stubbies and see if they work i guess?
