Joe,
Let 'er rip. Hope your tanks overflow, but remember it is still early and the first run is never what we think or hope it will be.
Good luck and let me know how those new beauties on top of the arch perform for you!

1200 gal of sap in 48 hr. Got 1 drum filled with med. If any one is thinking about new pans. Save up and get the new leader max flue match it up with a revolution ft pan and your cranking.
I'm at 140 gph up from 100 gph with the old pans. On a 3x8 wood fire. still going slow till I get the feel of these puppies.
Changing sap flow is that easy change the plug, open 1 value, close 1 value. Takes 5 sec. and the flow is rev. no down time.

We had about 40 dropin to 30 throughout the day but they were drippin by the time I got the spout to the hole...couldn't believe it. Its early up here. Supposed to be 20's all week though now. Hopefully be done tappin by the weekend, but today was the easy woods. Happy sappin'

Looks like the real season will start on Saturday up here. Hope you all got your taps in. I'm already at 45 gal. I got all of the normal season kinks fixed, so I'm ready to boil. Gotta hit that 300 gal mark this year.

Joe,
You need to add a signature so we know how many taps you have and all the other nice evaporat and other info!
Good luck, I am in the same boat as you and ready for the season to take off. Not much happened in Feb this year, but a good start.

Flushed out the mainlines last weekend. Cleaned the tanks out also. Sap ran sunday into maonday moring 4:30 am. 2300 gals . Up to 80 gals of syrup.
So far it's a good start to the season. 2-3 days of sap run, than 3-4 days of a cold spell.

The sap ran from Friday until Sunday. Made 23 gallons of Medium Friday, 46 gallons of light on Saturday and another 25ish (still in finisher) Today. I believe it is light again but will have to see when it is strained for the final time. Forecast looks good for the middle of the week. 150 gallons so far.

Joe,
Keep this up and those new pans will be paid for this season alone and a lot more on top of that. Glad you have already had your best season ever, wish I was closer and I would give you a hand for a few days.

373 gals syrup on 760 taps 1/2 gal per tip not bad.
