Any ice safe?

When I drain my pan I can't get all the liquid out without tilting the pan up. So I end up with less than a 1/4 inch of fluid thoughout the pan.

Think this much ice would do any damage to a soldered pan?

it shouldent with that much ice trhe ice will breake before the pan would but if you had 3 inches that could break it

I dont recommend it but if there is enough sweet in your pans it is almost like antifreeze and will not freeze solid. I used to leave it sit in my 2x6 for as long as 2 weeks or more and it never froze any harder than slush. I ran that 2x6 like that for 10 year with no problems.

if you are really concerned put a light bulb in the fire box. when it is cold i put two heat lamps in the back of my arch and at 20 below it does not freeze

jef thats a great idea never thought of that.. i like to blow my salamandor in on the bricks when i am getting ready for the first time i usaul flood the pans and warm the bricks then burn a paper fire ...but i never thought of the lights good idea
