I just picked up a Springtech Hero for dirt cheap. Guy was liquidating a lab and they almost threw everything away, so this guy was just trying to make a few bucks and didn’t know or care what he had. So anyways… picked it up and started cleaning it up and going through it. Long story short, the u cup gasket on membrane was blown out, although the unit only runs at 100psi. I think they messed it up at some point when they opened the housing for whatever reason. The filter was jammed in the housing top and the plastic piece broke off the membrane, so it’s obviously time for a new membrane, which is fine since I have no idea what it’s been through or how it’s been maintained. My question here is; the original membrane was a PVD1 and I’m replacing it with an ESPA4. Will I see an increase in performance with the newer tech? Originally it’s a 50GPH machine.
