I have a Leader Micro 2. It is supposed to be rated for 220psi but the max I can get is about 192 psi. I see that other people have this same thing so I wonder if that is normal? Also I am thinking about adding a third membrane. Can anyone tell me what I will gain? Right now I can run 2% sap to 5.7% at a little under 1 gallon a minute. would the next membrane take me to over 8%?

I have a Micro 2 and can get 200psi max which takes 2% to 7.5% at 0.5 gpm concentrate. If I understand it correctly, a third membrane in series should double the sugar content from the second membrane but that's theoretical and reality would be something less than that. I'm only guessing but I doubt the existing pump would be adequate to support a third membrane.

On my Micro 2, I usually run it at 200 psi and convert 1.8 % to about 6% with .75 gpm of concentrate. If I am getting above the head tank minimum level I can squeeze it a little harder to about 215 psi to get 7% but the gpm drops to about .5. The .75 gpm of concentrate matches the evaporators rate pretty well.

Problem is going to be running out of flow and fowling the 3rd membrane. I run 2-1/2 gpm on the concentrate side until I get to 7-8 brix and then squeeze down to 1-1/2 gpm to get around 12-14% concentrate.
