I have a mountain maple sap vacuum and transfer system that runs off a 12 volt battery. I have been running it off battery with a charger on the battery the lady few years. Could I cut out the battery and charger and use one of these instead?

Shurflo pump has max of 10 amps. You want the power supply to be larger enough so that 80% of its wattage is not exceeded at peak load. So (12 v x 10 amp ) / 0.8 = 150 watt. I use a waterproof 200 w just to be safe.

Are you trying to run both pumps off a single power supply? Or seperate?

If combined you will need 300 - 400 watts.

The simple answer is Yes. I have used one for the last few years and have no problems. One of the best purchases I made for the least money

Good advice above on the power requirements.

I run three separate diaphragm pumps on old PC power supplies. One for the 5/16 tubing runs. One for running a transfer pump to my head tank and another for a washing hose that pulls permeate out of barrels.

ATX PC power supplies just require a jump of two wires on the large motherboard header to turn on (wire it to a switch). The green and black wires, positions 4,5 on the side with the locking clip.

Odds are you can find old power supplies for free or very little money.

I did that very thing. I used a Mountain Maple S3 for years swapping out batteries. Last year switched to an AC/DC and haven't looked back. I have this transformer (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07Y61R8SR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) powering the S3 and a Shurflo 5059.

Before buying these power supplies, I used a PC power supply I pulled from my old tower in the basement. When I went hunting for more just a few years ago I found they were long gone. I dove in a lot of e-dumpsters and came up with nothing. You might get lucky, but you might be better off buying the exact transformer you need and be up and running in 48 hours.

Let us know how it turns out, esp with the amp requirements. Good info, D.Roseum.

Perfect. Thanks. I only have one pump. When the suction pump that runs into the barrel gets to the full switch the pump still sucks but a couple valves switch and the pu.p then pump the 55 gallon barrel to the storage tank 225 feet away by the road where the 275 is. Then when sap triggers low level it goes back to full suction. I always keep 5/16 leak free and run around 26 to 27 on suction. During transfer it drip to around 12 on suction while it transfers and then right back up to 26/27. One of these will keep me from lugging batteries around and double connections.
