I'm looking to see if any producers have or would be willing to share some sap collection data for research purposes. I have my own data set from sugaring over the past 30+ years but I'm looking for other data to see how it lines up. I'm specifically looking for the amount of sap that was collected by date, how many taps that sap came from and where it was collected. If you don't have the data from the past but would be willing to take notes this year, that would be helpful as well. Please PM me if you're willing to share!

Ask the maker of the SapTapApps if he is willing to share his data.

I'd be willing to share, but I typically only collect once per week, so might not be what you're looking for. Also, are you looking for a specific region? I mean, WI and CT and WV, and Ontario will be comparing apples, oranges, bananas, etc.

Thanks. I see the data but I'm wondering if you happen to have the location of the collections? It doesn't need to be specific but the town would be good.

Once a week would be fine if you know the number of taps and amount you're collecting each week. I actually do the same thing.

I'm looking at seasonal temperatures and its impact on sap volumes. I did some preliminary number crunching on with both my data and a couple other places but I'd like a larger sample size before I come to any conclusions. Having a larger sample from different states/regions would be ideal.

I have pulled the data together. If you PM me your email I'll send it to you. My location is in the foothills of the Berkshires (western MA) around 900' elevation.

Cheers,

Gabe

Hi Gabe...I tried sending you a PM but it says your message queue is full. Sorry. I also apologize about the tardy reply by Dad has been in an out of the hospital so my attention has been elsewhere. Thanks again for sharing your data!
