Second RO tower questions

Adding a second RO tower. A few questions. Is a second prefilter needed? Any plumbing do or don’ts? I would really love the option of running one membrane for low sap days especially early in season and two membranes the heart of season. Can you isolate or choose to run one or two without physically disconnecting tubing?

I have only ever run both of my membranes, but I imagine with enough valves you could do it weather your membranes were in series or parallel. I would just be sure when you were cleaning that when you go to rinse that you open it up so you rinse both membranes just so you keep the second one flushed out.
