Hi All,

I'm be running a new Mason 2x4 raised flue this year.
This is my fisrt time using a raised flue pan, and I have a question or two:

1. What is a good height above the top of the flues for the sap depth?
2. What is a good height to run in the front syrup pan?

I'll be getting used to the new rig, auto draw, head tank etc.

I'll plan to go slow at first and give myself some time to acclimate before really running this thing through its paces.

Any other words of wisdom for a newbie with a new rig?

Thansk All,

Bryan

I've got a wood fired 2x6 raised flue. I run 1" over the flues and between 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" in the syrup pan. This will be my fourth year with this rig. It's an older evaporator, but it was used 2 seasons, then sat for almost 10 years. I run it like I stole it, Air over & under. Put a steam away on it this year. almost finished with the autdraw off. Hope to get a test boil done with water tomorrow before it turns off cold again. Washed tanks today. Hope this helps Have a Merry Christmas.
