I purchased a couple lengths of the clear pvc pipe from CDL last year. I’m finally getting around to the project now.
I’m planning on running it from my head tank 1.5” to the evaporator with a tee comming off with a 1/2” clear pipe going up into the rafters to act as a sight gauge for the outside head tank.
I originally planned on just friction fitting them like the old one we had. But what happened with the old one was once it got put together a couple times it constantly leaked.
I’ve got a couple of unions in the design so I can take it all apart at end of year to clean and store away. But I’m hoping to glue it.
I know the pipe is for contact with sap. Just not sure what type of glue to use for it.
Is regular pVC cement ok to use with pvc and sap ?

I've seen several set up's using PVC and they were glued joints, so I think it must be OK. Another thing, there are lots of PVC moisture traps that are glued together, as well as separators where the sap flows thru, the sap falls into the tank and the air/gases are removed and they are glued.

Glued PVC has been used for water pipes and even product piping, so you should be good to blue it.

they make a pvc glue that is rated for potable water. i've used the clear pvc tube for exactly what you're doing. i used the brand Oatey and their potable water glue is called Rain-R-Shine i believe. it sets quickly!
