I ACQUIRED A DE LAVEL MODLE 75 VAC PUMP FROM A FARM IN TOWN THAT HASN'T BEEN USED FOR A LONG TIME. IT WAS INSIDE THE BARN BUT WAS SET UP. I GINGERLY DISASSEMBLED IT AND AM LOOKING FOR SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO CLEAN UP THE RUSTY AREAS.BLADES AND END CAPS SEEM TO BE THE WORST,WITH THE MAIN HOUSING RUSTY
ONLY ON THE BOTTOM OF THE BARREL.

I got a De Lavel model 40 that had been sitting in a barn also and I've learned over the years from farmers, ( I also grew up farming), to run diesel fuel in them. I just poured diesel fuel into it and worked it back and forth, slapped a motor on it, turned it over a little with the motor then drained the diesel fuel out, the rust and crap ran out. I did this several times then filled it with oil and away it went. Runs great.
