Had a the motor capacitor blow on my filter press last night while I was filtering the last 10 gallons of syrup.
So I’m now stuck with 10 gallons of syrup with DE in it that I will have to reheat now to get through the press tonight once I put a new capacitor in it.
I’ve never had to reheat a batch of syrup that I had DE mixed in. I’ve got about 3 cups mixed in.
I usually heat it up very slow on the lowest setting anyways. I’m assuming I’m ok. But just wanted to hear from others that have done it.
I’ve installed a T on my bottler this year so I can recirculate the syrup in the bottler through the filter press so it keeps the press warm and at a constant 185 temp. Also polishes the syrup up super clear. But I think since the old motor has been running more since no I did that it’s been hard on it.

It can't be much different than firing up your rig with niter in the pan. And probably better.

You should be fine. Just stir the syrup before you heat it and maybe again a couple of times as you heat it to make sure the DE hasn’t settled out and cause a hot spot in your pan.
