Milk filter

I met a fellow syrup maker. He recommended using a milk filter to filter syrup. Anyone else using these to filter syrup? Pro's? Con's?

I run the contents of my back pan through a milk filter to get the heavy debris out, and I can assure you it doesn't catch much of the fine stuff.
